Send a checklist after an Instagram comment
Set up a keyword, a short DM exchange, and a working resource link. Then test the whole path before publishing your post.
Make the offer clear
“Comment PLAN and I'll send you a checklist for your first consultation.” The reader knows what to do and what they'll receive.
Prepare the checklist first. Open its link on your phone and in a browser where you're signed out. An access request will block the recipient too. Check that the file name and first page match your offer. Keep the promised free resource at that link; don't replace it with a purchase page.
Choose where PLAN should work
Instagram API connections require a professional account: creator or business.
If you already have Sayw access, open “Automations” and name the flow “First consultation checklist.” Select “Comments” for requests under a post. Choose “Direct” or “Both” only if you also want to accept the keyword in DMs.
Add PLAN and review “Exact match only.” If you expect “I want the plan,” test that phrase: the matching mode affects whether the flow starts. Use different keywords for different resources.
Write the greeting and delivery message
Sayw separates the greeting from resource delivery. The first DM contains an action button; after the recipient taps it, the flow sends the resource. Explain that next step in your greeting.
For delivery, enter the resource URL, message, and button label. For example: “Start with section one to gather your questions before the consultation.” Label the button “Open checklist.” You can also enable a public reply that tells the commenter to check their DMs.
For short instructions or a shared promotional code, choose Text delivery and put the resource in the message. Keep Link for a multi-page checklist. Text delivery does not automatically allocate unique single-use codes.
Keep the reply within the request
For a first flow, the greeting, button, and resource are enough. A checklist request doesn't justify an unexpected promotional sequence. Instagram limits private replies and follow-up messages; a comment doesn't allow unlimited sending or indefinite reminders when someone stays silent.
If you require a follow or another action, disclose it in the post before anyone requests the file.
Test from another account
Save and enable the flow, then review the preview. Instagram may display buttons differently, so a preview alone isn't enough.
Ask a consenting person to leave a fresh comment from another account. Sayw ignores the connected creator's own comments. Avoid posting the same test repeatedly: repeat activity may be handled differently.
Once the checks below pass, publish the same keyword and offer.
- Flow saved and enabled; channel and keyword correct.
- Greeting arrives and its button continues the flow.
- Link opens the promised resource without requesting access.
- Text reads well on a phone and contains no placeholders.
